BERMAN, LOIS: 75, of Sq. Hill/Shadyside, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, died peacefully surrounded by her family and friends. Lois was the wife of the late Allen Berman, mother of Suzan (David) Hauptman and James (Ruth) Berman, grandmother to Abigail, Olivia, and Noah Berman and Dillon Hvizdash, sister to the late Anita Schwartz, sister-in-law, Sandy Lieberman, nieces and nephews and daughterly niece, Sandi Bart. She had many friends with whom she shared a love of canasta, mah jong, and watching the Pittsburgh sports’ teams and, in her younger days, bowling, and activities through B’nai B’rith and sisterhood. Together with her late husband, they had been owners of Duds ‘n Suds Laundry. Lois will be remembered for her witty, often sarcastic, sense of humor, her beauty parlor routine, and her tremendous love for her family, especially her grandchildren. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Monday at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services, (12 Noon - 1PM). Interment Shaare Torah Cemetery. Condolences

Susie (daughter) was one of the very first people and friends I met back when I joined Tree of Life USY. This was way back in 1981. Throughout my friendship with Susie I used to visit and got to know Lois. Its been quite many years since I have seen her, but I am very sad for the families to go through this.
