Ryave, cherished mother of Sharon Ryave Brody (Rose Stophel), and the late David B. Ryave.  Loving step-mother of Steven and James Ryave.  Beloved sister of Roni Perlut and soul sister of Zola Munter Pober.  Loving, devoted, and adoring Bubbie of Daniel, Jacob and Allie Ryave, and Benjamin and Joshua Brody ('My Lovie, 'My Sweetheart, 'My Princess, 'The Angelist of all the Angels in the Whole Gansa Velt, and, 'My Pumpkin,' respectively). Also survived by her many treasured nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.  Gail was the owner and President of Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc.  She was the heart and soul of our family business for over 30 years when she came to work after losing Arnold, the love of her life suddenly.  She was known for her smile that lit up the world, her hugs that consoled us all, her singing voice that filled our lives with music, her powerful presence, and straight-shooter approach. A compassionate yet powerful force to be reckoned with, you always knew where you stood with Gail. She loved us all ferociously and we will miss her forever and honor her for the rest of our days.  Special thank you to Dr. Engh and Dr. Stone for giving us more time, a gift of which we will be forever grateful, to the entire staff at Shadyside Hospital and Charles Morris Nursing Center, and all the compassionate caregivers we were so blessed to have. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Tuesday, November 1 at 11 am.  Visitation one and one half hours prior to services (9:30 am - 11:00 am).  Interment Beth Shalom Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gail's memory may be made to the Jewish Association on Aging, 200 JHF Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15217, the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute, (please make checks payable to "UPCI"), c/o UPMC Cancer Pavilion, Suite 1B, 5150 Centre Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15232 or the National Council of Jewish Women, 1620 Murray Avenue, Pittsburgh, 15217. www.schugar.com

Sharon: Words do not seem adequate enough to extend my condolences to you and your family. Gail was a true neshama. My heart aches for you. She will live on through all that knew and loved her. My family will be eternally grateful to her. When my father died on a Friday evening, she got in her car & drove that Friday from Florida to Pittsburgh to be there for us on Sunday. She never gave it a second thought. She will be missed beyond words by everyone. May her memory be a blessing. May the friends and family & loved ones around you help you through this devastating time.

Dear Sharon and Family, My dad, Bob, and Arnold were dear friends for many years and when he passed my father had an officer at the funeral home. Later, when my mother Fritzie died, Gail so graciously offered her home to us to sit Shiva. That is when I really came to know Gail and your family. I am deeply saddened to hear of yet passing. I pray that God will send you His comfort, love, and peace and will place people around you to help you walk through this difficult time. You are in my and my husband\\\'s prayers.
