  • KOBRE, MYRNA: November 28, 1930 - September 12, 2017, of Columbus, OH since 1960 (though relocated to Pittsburgh, PA in 2015), age 86, died early Tuesday morning, September 12 2017. Myrna was born in New York City in 1930. A graduate of Evander Childs High School in The Bronx, she lived in Richmond, VA; Coshocton, OH; and other places before moving with her family to Columbus in 1960. She earned her real estate license in 1965 and began a long career as a successful salesperson and broker. As a professional woman and a realtor, she broke many boundaries, serving as the first woman president of the Columbus Board of Realtors in 1979, leading the Board’s participation in the Adopt-A-School Program, and as the second woman president of the Ohio Association of Realtors in 1991. Among her many honors, she was named as a recipient of the YWCA Women of Achievement Award in 1988.  As a colleague from the industry described her, “Myrna developed, mentored, and trained some of the top realtors in Central Ohio. She dedicated her career to local, state, and national realtor associations. She truly meets the definition of ‘Legend’ in Central Ohio real estate.” Myrna is survived by her daughter Valerie Bacharach, her son-in-law Paul Bacharach, her grandson Jacob Bacharach, all of Pittsburgh, PA; and by her son Michael Kobre and daughter-in-law Suz-Anne Kinney of Charlotte, NC, and by her granddaughter Hannah Kinney-Kobre, now a student at Boston University. Myrna’s beloved grandson Nathan Bacharach passed away in 2009. Services and Entombment will be held in Pittsburgh. Donations in her memory can be made to Sivitz Jewish Hospice at 200 JHF Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15217. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. www.schugar.com
