George Ball

BALL, GEORGE: Age 88, died peacefully at Carriage Court Memory Care Center, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eileen E. (Linder) Ball, his daughter Wendy Hawkins (J. David), 4 step-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews... and a son.  George was born and raised in Pittsburgh, where he  worked for United Plate Glass of Pittsburgh and retired from Chromalloy American Corporation, also in Pittsburgh.  George was a veteran of World War II, having served stateside in the U.S. Army Air Corp.  George and his wife, Eileen moved to Cincinnati in 2006 to be near family.  George appreciated integrity and believed strongly in racial and religous equality and harmony. Services will be held  at Ralph Schugar Chapel Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Sunday at 2 PM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services (1 - 2 PM).  Interment will take place immediately following the service at Beth Shalom Cemetery in Shaler Township.  In lieu of flowers, please make tax deductible donations to the Southern Poverty Law Center, 6400 Washington Avenue, Montgomery, AL 36104 -or online at www.splcenter.org. 

There will be a Multi-Religious Service for friends and relatives on Saturday, February 9, 2013 from 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm at College Hill UCC, 5808 Glenview Avenue, College Hill/Cincinnati, OH 455224, with hors d'oeuvres and beverages to follow.
