ADLER, MINNIE: A Pittsburgh, PA native, who adopted California as her home 15 years ago, died peacefully near her home in Berkeley, California on March 27, 2014.  She was 96 years old, and newly made a great grandmother by the birth of Theodore Alexander on March 1, 2014 to her granddaughter Adrienne and Adrienne's husband James who reside in Santa Monica, CA.  In addition to Adrienne, James and Theo, Minnie is survived by her beloved little sister, Irene Wander of McKeesport, PA, daughter, Barbara Adler Cohn, and Barbara's partner William Schechner of Berkeley, California, her son Larry Mark Adler of Winston Salem, North Carolina, her grandson Avery Simon and his fiancĂ© Lala, and grandson Harris Samuel, all of San Francisco, CA, niece Elyse and nephews Phillip, Kurt and Jeffrey and their partners. Minnie's beloved brother, Eli Rudick; husband, Isadore Jack Adler; and son in law, Theodore E. Cohn; preceded her in death in 1955, 2009, and 2006 respectively, events that Minnie  faced with courage. Minnie lived a long and full life, never losing her memories and reason, having been a passenger in her father Simon Rudick's horse-drawn wagon, having traveled on the running board of an early auto during her teen years, and jetting to Mexico at age 93 to her granddaughter's wedding.  An ardent student and teacher of Yiddish, and a performer on the Yiddish stage in her youth, Minnie was a life-long entertainer whose beauty and generosity were clear to all.  She was a fashion consultant to many in her more than 40 years devoted to retail, having previously managed a bomb parachute factory that was vital to the US effort during WWII. Minnie was devoted and steadfast in her faith.
