SPATTER, SAMUEL L.: On Friday, November 28, 2014; Beloved husband and best friend of Sara Spatter. Loving father of Susan Lyn (David) Breitenbach, Susan Booth and Megan (Jay) Finkelstein. Brother of Ellen Lowenberg and the late Dorothy Brody and Ethel Schwachter. Cherished and adoring Zaidie of Matthew, Jeffrey, Daniel, Tyler, Zachary, Seth and Taylor. Also survived by his loving Chi Chi and many nieces, nephews and friends. Sam was a long time real estate reporter in the Pittsburgh area - most recently with the Tribune Review. He was a retired Lieutenant Colonel from the Army reserves. Sam was the most loving and caring husband, father and Zaidie. He will always be missed. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Monday at 11 AM. Visitation one hour prior to service (10 - 11 AM). Interment PRIVATE. Susan & Family: I was sad to hear of the passing of your beloved father. He was always such a gentlemen when he called as a Trib reporter and I worked for Allegheny County. I always enjoyed his military stories interlaced around discussions about the latest projects. God bless him and you all during this time.
