BONINGER, LONNIE J.: Age 82, of Pittsburgh, passed away March 23, 2015. Beloved wife of 30 years of Walter B. Boninger. Loving mother of Rick Stern and the late Noel Stern. Beloved sister of Michele Braverman and Grandma Nanny to 6 of the Boninger clan, Jason, Nathan, Joey, Eli, Alisa and Talia, who are children of Ron and Patty Boninger,Michael and Judy Boninger and David and Faith Boninger respectively. Lonnie's lifetime artistic prowess is legendary. A graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, Lonnie worked as an illustrator at the American Greetings Company in Cleveland Ohio, a freelance artist, and she was the Cultural Arts Director at the Cleveland Jewish Community Center. Her love of culture, history, and Judaica is reflected in her later textile works. An avid zoo goer, the elephants were her love. Services at Temple Sinai, 5505 Forbes Ave, Squirrel Hill on Wednesday March 25 at 3:00 pm.
