ROBERT "BOB" A. ROBBINS: Of Squirrel Hill, passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 due to complications from Covid-19. Born in Pittsburgh on December 8, 1932 to the late Anna (Cohen) and Sol Robbins. Robert was a 1951 graduate of Peabody High School. He owned and operated the Robbins Furniture Company in Vandergrift, PA for 30 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Beloved father of Susan (Michael) O'Keane of Erie, PA. Grandfather of Austin O'Keane (Melanie Pace) of Philadelphia and Jaclyn O'Keane of Pittsburgh. Also survived by former spouse Ethel Gelman and devoted niece and nephew Sandy (Larry) Rosen. Brother of the late Barney (Doris) Robbins and Marcia (Dan) Danovitz.   Services and Interment PRIVATE. So sorry to hear about his passing. He was an important part of my youth, particularly family gatherings to mark Jewish holidays or watch the Steelers play and always had a laugh and a smile. I will never forget standing next to him at Three Rivers Stadium when Franco Harris scored with the Immaculate Reception. Yesterday, 48 years and a few days since Franco’s miracle catch, the Steelers were down 17 points and mounted their biggest comeback in nearly two decades. Somewhere, somehow, I know by Uncle Bobby was smiling.
