FINDER, NATALIE: On January 12th, 2017. For 63 years, the devoted wife of the late Morris Finder; proud and doting mother of Susan Finder (Lu Kun) of Hong Kong, Joseph Finder (Michele Souda) of Boston, Jonathan (Jana) Finder of Pittsburgh, and Lisa Finder and Henry Finder (Anthony Appiah), both of Manhattan; sister of the late Ruth Stone Gardner Romano and Irving Stone; loving grandmother of Emma Finder, Hannah Lu, Aaron Lu, Zachary Finder and Benjamin Finder. Natalie grew up in Chicago and lived in Kabul, Afghanistan; Iloilo, the Philippines; Bellingham, Washington; Albany, New York, where she taught at the College of Saint Rose; and, for the past decade, in Pittsburgh. She earned undergraduate and graduate degrees in English from the University of Chicago, and a doctorate from SUNY Albany. An avid reader, traveler, and cook, she had deeply held views about pedagogic methods, central Asian cuisine, Henry James, and gefilte fish. Services at Rodef Shalom Temple, 4905 Fifth Avenue (at Morewood) on Monday at 10 AM. Visitation one hour prior to services at Temple (9 - 10 AM). Interment West View Cemetery of Rodef Shalom Congregation. Contributions may be made to Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh Foundation, 1251 Waterfront Place Fl 5, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
