We, in the Montreal Jewish Community stand with you during this terrible time. You are us and we are you. On Monday evening, more than one-thousand Jews stood shoulder to shoulder with you in solidarity. Anti-Semitism and hatred of all forms cannot be allowed nor condoned at any level. L’Chaim!! Jodi and family - I was devastated to hear of your father's tragic passing. I have very fond memories of him as I grew up in the New Light family. He was always smiling, and so kind. I hope that your memories of him give you some comfort at this terrible time.

So very sorry for your loss. Words are never sufficient enough to lessen the pain you feel from such a hate-filled and cowardly act of violence perpetrated on your loved one. I hope and pray that in the days, weeks, and months ahead, the family can find a measure of comfort and peace in God’s promise of a resurrection. Isaiah 26:19.

Jodi, I am so sorry that your fathers life was cut short in such a horrible, senseless way...Your Dad was a childhood friend of my Father...Your Mom and Dad were both a part of my life since i was born...I am heartbroken over this loss...The memory of your Fathers smile, laugh and wit bring me some comfort in these dark days...I will miss him dearly, until we meet again. with love, Jeff

Jodi, Edward, Matthew, Dear Family and Friends, I am saddened by your tragic loss and send my heartfelt condolences. Melvin’s kindness and easy-going nature leave an example for all. Cherish all your good memories, and may they provide solace for you. King David said God is close to the brokenhearted and those crushed in spirit. (Psalm 34:18, 19). God is for you a safe place and strength; a help that is readily found in times of pain and distress. He will comfort you and give you the courage and strength to cope, just as he did for David, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Moses. May he comfort your broken hearts also.

Mel Wax defined the goodness of God on our sad and sorry planet. We go way back, meeting at an accounting firm in town, cheering the Pirates first championship in eons, relocating a company (and me) to New Jersey, celebrating happy events with Sandy and Mel. I've been crying for days and praying on each tear that Mel's family and friends will find peace over time. Mel would have wanted balance to return for each of us. God knows such a senseless loss cannot be explained but must be accepted. With much love, Bea

Dear Wax Family, My heart goes out to you and I mourn with you the loss of dear Mel. I am grateful for the time I got to spend with and know him. This world is definitely a better place for him having been in it. He was such a kind, gentle, and wonderful man. Always quick to help and to find a way to put a smile on a person's face. I will especially miss the way his eyes twinkled when he was going to tell a joke. I'll also miss the updates on his beloved grandson of whom he was so proud and spoke so often of.
