Brourman, Audrey Lea: December 1, 1937-December 13, 2012. Resident of Pittsburgh. After a courageous 8 year battle with cancer, Audrey passed away peacefully in her family's home in Chicago with loved ones by her side. She was one of three children born to the late Helen and Maurice Breier. Audrey will be dearly remembered forever by her sister, Marlene Brodsky, her beloved sons, Ronn Brourman (Pittsburgh), Jeff Brourman (Boise), Paul Brourman and daughter-in-law, Katie Brourman (both Chicago), and her four grandchildren Brynn, Emily, Jamie and Zoe. Also remembered by her former spouse, Jacques Brourman and by dear nieces and nephews as well as Jeff's fiancee Brooke Murdoch and her son, Miles. Audrey valued family beyond words and gave her grandchildren (their "Mia") and loved ones the gift of her ever-giving heart. Born and raised in Los Angeles, Audrey studied classical piano at a young age and later attended the Aspen Music Institute. She became an accomplished concert pianist and co-founded and operated the Sun Valley Music Camp for a decade. In 1990, Audrey started and led A.L. Brourman and Associates, a world-class fundraising firm for over 22 years helping regional and national non-profit organizations flourish and per her wishes, the company will continue on in its mission and cause through her legacy. Notable organizations include the Senator John Heinz History Center and the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation. Audrey was named by the Governor as one of "PA's Best 50 Women in Business" in 2008. Audrey's understanding and love for music was evident in everything she touched and every vision she imagined and brought to life. Her rare combination of grace, warm presence and sweetness will be dearly missed by all. She is remembered by countless loving friends whose lives she touched and whose friendships meant so much. She was endlessly courageous in her battle, leaving all in awe of her resilience. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral service at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc.,5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside on Monday, December 17, 2012, at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services, (12 Noon - 1 PM). Cemetery Interment Private.
