EILEEN SAWDAI: Age 90 of Pittsburgh and Port Charlotte, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2020 in Bradenton, FL. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 7th. She studied music for a year at Roosevelt College and moved to Long Beach California. She had one daughter Karen in 1952 from a previous marriage. She later married Joseph Sawdai on June 7th, 1963 and welcomed her twins Michael and Terri the following June. Her love of music was shared with her family. She was a pianist and enjoyed playing and singing for her family and friends. She enjoyed raising her family, playing bridge, mahjong, reading and art projects. Her love of Broadway musicals and collection of music will be treasured. Her grandson,  Zachary, will be learning to play her treasured Baldwin Acrosonic piano. She loved being a Bubby to her grandsons Sidney and Zachary. She enjoyed her weekly dates with Sidney, their  many weekends and adventures together while she resided in Pittsburgh. She loved traveling and accompanied her husband on many trips to Hawaii, Italy, Egypt, Israel and Paris with her husband. Eileen is survived by her husband of 56 years, Joseph Sawdai, daughters, Karen LaFlamme and Terri (Sawdai) Sokoloff (Ned) and grandson Sidney. Son, Michael Sawdai (Johanna) and grandson Zachary. Eileen is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Rose Smith, sister, Shirley Levin and brother, Bernard Smith. Services and Interment were Private. Memorial donations in Eileens memory may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation at Parkinson.org. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., family owned and operated.
