I was so saddened to hear the news of Joanie's passing. She was such a loving and kind person. I will forever remember her fondly. I will always remember her delicious brisket that she would make for Rosh Hashanah, and her love of sweets, especially Dulce de Leche ice cream by Hagen Daz. She was forever a gracious hostess, even during her time in nursing care. When I would come to visit with my children, she always insisted that they have some ice cream with her. She was a resilient woman, who showed such grace even in spite of all the loved ones who predeceased her, including the losses of three of her four children. I am comforted by the thought that she is reunited with her boys, Howard, and her mother. Rest in peace, Joanie. Much love, Birgitta and family
