I am devastated to hear about Brett's passing. I met Brett during Hurricane Sandy in Hoboken - literally during the storm. Our balconies were across from each other in our apartment building, and we bonded as we shared necessities over the days that followed and we were stranded in our building. We had a great friendship, even after my wife and I moved to the suburbs. He came to see my son when he was born and we got together whenever we returned to Hoboken. Unfortunately, those times became less and less as my wife and I had more kids, and now he's no longer there to visit. He was a fast friend and a good friend. He was a friend that I knew once we reconnected, it would be like no time had passed at all, but sadly that time will never come. I'll miss him tremendously. My condolences to the Malvin family. Brett was one of a kind. RIP, my friend.

I was absolutely heartbroken to find out about Brett\'s passing. I don\'t know the right words to say but I do know this: Brett was one of the funniest, kindest, most generous, and witty human beings I have ever met. The day I met Brett was the day I met my match. Randomly, we met over Twitter over our love of MTV\'s The Challenge and ironically ended up in Thailand at the same time. We met up while we were both there and I will cherish those memories for a lifetime. Although we didn\'t check in as often as we used to, Brett always held a special place in my heart. I will never ever forget when he flew me to NYC and gave me the real NYC/NJ experience - he even took me (reluctantly) to Carols Bakery. My favourite memory of all was when he took me to shoot picklebacks at DC\'s tavern. If you know, you know. To Brett\'s family - please know how highly he regarded you, especially his nieces and nephews. Hold your head high knowing he was an amazing man. I am sending my condolences from BC, Canada, and will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Brett will always be in my heart forever. We were coworkers years ago but always kept in touch. That was how Brett did things, if he made a friend, you were his friend forever. To his family, I hope you somehow find peace. You will all be in my prayers.
