HARRY BERKMAN: Beloved husband of Frances S. Berkman for 62 years; Loving father of Arlene (Gabe) Reitter and David Berkman; Brother of Reva (Lee) Neiman and the late William (Jan) Berkman; Also survived by nieces, nephews, and his three grand-dogs, Lucy, Noah, and Abe, whom he adored. Harry was an avid fisherman who loved sharing his passion with others. He took friends and family on many fishing trips, some of which included traveling to Lake Erie and Alaska. Harry spent his career as a lead airline mechanic for U.S. Airways. Devout in his beliefs, Harry's heritage was very important to him. He was a long standing member of Beth El Congregation, serving as a lay leader at times. Harry loved his family, and one of the ways he expressed his love was by cooking, gardening and growing his own food. His kind and generous heart shone through by sharing his home grown vegetables with others. He was known as the cook of the family, invited people for dinner, schlepped home-made food to his daughter in Columbus and made all of his dishes from scratch, with care. Service at Beth El Congregation in South Hills, 1900 Cochran Road, Pittsburgh PA 15220 on THURSDAY, SEPT. 2, 2021 at 1 PM. Visitation one hour prior to services (12 Noon -1 PM) at Beth El outdoors. Masks and social distancing are required both at the outdoor visitation and inside for the service.
