ROSALYN FRIED ESCOVITZ: On Tuesday, August 2, 2022. Beloved wife of the late Joel L. Escovitz. Loving mother of Estelle (Steven) Cherin and Martin (Freda) Escovitz. Sister of the late Dr. Joseph Fried. Grandma of Joel (Karen) Solomon, Steven Solomon (Chiquisha Robinson Solomon), and Jeremy Escovitz. Great-grandmother of Phoebe, Chase, and McKenzie Solomon. Also survived by many beloved friends. The family would like to thank Dr. Stanley Marks for his care and compassion and also the caregivers for their devoted service. Rosalyn was a teacher for over 30 years in the Pittsburgh Public School System and was nationally recognized in the Who's Who of Teachers. She was a lover of classical music and attended the symphony quite regularly. Friends may meet at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Centre Avenue, Shadyside, on Friday, August 5 at 12 noon and then proceed to Poale Zedeck Memorial Park for 1 PM Graveside Services. I was so sorry to hear this. I taught with Roz at Colfax and for the past several years we have been Facebook friends. Estelle, I still use the wonderful hangars you gave me when I was Joel’s second grade math teacher. Roz was such a wonderful person. My condolences to your whole family.

My deepest condolences to Estelle and family. My love for your mother is forever. I’m so grateful for having had her support and kindness. She was also a wonder friend to my parents.
