ELIZABETH ODOROFF, PhD: Liz was born on June 3, 1943 and died September 19, 2023 at the age of 80. She was born in Minneapolis, MN, grew up in Alexandria, VA but lived in Pittsburgh since the late 1960's. She is survived by her husband of 37 years, David Morgan and her children, Adam Goldstein, Emily Cook and Andrew Morgan. She is predeceased by her father and mother, Maurice and Minnie Odoroff and her older brother, Charles Odoroff. Liz received a BA in English and Education from the University of Minnesota, a MA in English from Brown University and a PhD in Rhetoric from Carnegie Mellon University. She taught English at Taylor Allderdice High School from around 1967 to 1971 and taught composition and other classes part-time at the University of Pittsburgh from the mid 1970's until her retirement in 2007. She was a very accomplished teacher at Taylor Allderdice and the University of Pittsburgh. She maintained contact with some of her students at Taylor Allderdice for her entire life. She was a very outgoing person who was remarkably upbeat and positive in the face of life's challenges. She was a patron of the arts. She was one of the founders of the Childrens Library of Pittsburgh. She loved reading murder mysteries and she loved to listen to NPR radio. Graveside Service and Interment will be held on Thursday at 10 AM at Homewood Cemetery.
