Faye Fischman was a regular participant in discussion sessions with our Makom HaLev chavurah for several years. She loved sharing ideas about Jewish heritage and we loved her!

I have known Faye since Bill Chosky married Yeta Zwick, my mother's sister, and moved not more than 30 feet from us on Broadview Drive in the Glen Hazel Projects. I knew Mel Fischman from the time I was 5 years old, visiting my grandmother and aunt at the Terrace Village Projects. The Fischmans, husband, wife and 3 kids lived in the next building and I played with Miriam, the youngest. Faye was a loving, caring, compassionate person. She devoted herself to serving her husband, children, grandchildren and others. I was always fond of Faye. Faye was 6 years older than me, about 1 1/2 years younger than my brother Chuck, whom everyone called Marvin in those days. A picture of Faye arises from memory. She was 13 or 14, sitting on the floor of the cramped coat closet in the 4 room house on Broadview Drive, her knees close to her chest, talking on the phone in the days of the phone party line.
