BERNARD JACOB WEISS, Ph.D: On January 28, 2025. Beloved husband of 41 years of Beverly Nero. Loving father of Rebecca Weiss and Rachel Weiss. Brother of Phyllis Abend of Boston, MA and May (Walter) March of Chicago, IL. Grandfather of Bridget McCrum. Also survived by nieces and nephews. Dr. Weiss was a Professor of History at Duquesne University for 45 years and was a former chairman of the History Department. Graveside Service and Interment will be held on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 12 Noon at Homewood Cemetery. Condolences

He was a wonderful professor and one of the many fond memories I have from Duquesne University. Besides having him in class, I would occasionally stop over in his office to talk about everything from Poland to Wrigley Field. He touched the lives of many young students and will be missed.

I am sad to learn of the passing of Professor Bernie Weiss. I have known him for many years. To be sure, he was a great scholar of History at Duquesne University. From a personal perspective, I enjoyed talking to him about historical events, politics, travel, and other subjects. He had a sound mind and intuition. I consider him an old friend who tried to help. I will miss him. My thoughts are with his family.

What a wonderful person!!! Brillant, supportive, caring and generous. He was a river to his people. I cherish my many memories of times, conversations and trips taken with him. Requiescat in pace cum angelorum.
