ROBERT ALAN COHN (BOB) of Pittsburgh: Passed away peacefully in Boynton Beach, Florida (his happy place), surrounded by his loving immediate family. Bob was the son of the late Flora and Harry Cohn, and the beloved husband of Michelle (Shelley) Cohn. Predeceased by sister, Tela (Harry) Kingley. Proud father of Heidi (Kenneth) Leventhal, Michelle (Neal) Seideman, Debra Cohn, Jamie (Charlie) Henderson, Abby (Jonathan) Weinberg, Lee (Beth) Terkel, David (Susannah) Terkel, and Naomi (Anthony) Wilkinson. His pride and joy were his grandchildren: Brian (Nicole), Jeremiah, and Emily Leventhal; Alexandra, Samuel, and Benjamen Seideman; Brooke and Elise Cohn; Emery and Olivia Henderson; Jacob, Noah, Ari, and Amelia Terkel; and Adam Wilkinson. Bob also cherished his great-grandchild, Audrey Leventhal. Bob is also survived by brother-in-law Sanford (Bonnie) Lewis and many dear and loving family and friends.
Bob met his wife Shelley through a "fix-up" and told her on their second date that he would take care of her for the rest of her life. Being true to his word, he provided love and devotion throughout their 30 years of marriage.
Bob grew up in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, and graduated from Westmont Upper Yoder High School. Bob lived a life marked by devotion to family, professional achievement, and enduring friendships. He earned his Bachelor's Degree, followed by a degree in Pharmacy, from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating from Pharmacy School, Bob went into retail pharmacy for Thrift Drug, which led him to open a pharmacy with his father in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania. After a successful career in the pharmacy business, Bob entered into the Durable Medical Supply Industry where he also served as the Founder and President of NAMES (National Association of Medical Equipment Suppliers), where his leadership and dedication left a lasting impact for the next 30 years. Bob eventually returned to retail pharmacy with Rite Aid and then Walmart, where he retired in 2011 having been loved by staff and customers alike.
Bob found immense joy in playing golf, watching sports on television and spending time with his family. Above all else, he treasured every moment with his grandchildren. Known affectionately as Grandpa, Poppy, and Chucky, Bob's warmth and humor created countless cherished memories for those who loved him.
Bob will be remembered as a devoted husband, considerate human being, true friend, great dad, caring father-in-law, and wonderful grandfather. His legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire all who knew him.
