I knew Barry from our membership at Poale Zedeck but when he attended Talmud classes at the Jewish Learning center on weekday mornings I got to see another side of him Often He would react positively to one of my points but if he did not agree, he would remain neutral not wanting to take sides. We will miss him as we meet Monday morning as a smaller group. we

Dear Tunick Family, I had the pleasure of meeting and befriending Barry a few years ago. I was saddened to learn of his passing. My deepest condolences.

I am sadden by the news of Barry's passing. Barry and his wife Nancy were the first people to greet Janet and me with a traditional loaf of bread when we first arrived in Pleasant Hills back in 1970. We were neighbors on Bruceton Road for many years. As a novice woodworker myself, I had to admire Barry's handywork, especially his beautiful boat that he built in his garage. Barry was in the small group of three members of BIC who invited me to join in bicycle riding after I retired in 2000. The four of us, Barry, Stan, Bob, and myself became the nucleus for the Silver Cyclers that eventually involved fifteen riders. He will be missed.

Although I only have known Barry for a few years, I considered him a good pipe smoking friend. My condolences to his family and believe that he is now in a better place without any pain. I will always remember him as quite the feisty character and it has been a privilege knowing him.
