Emma Lou Rosenstein
July 29, 1931 - December 13, 2025

EMMA LOU ROSENSTEIN: Passed away after a long illness on Saturday, December 13th, 2025. She was born on July 29, 1931 to the late James and Alberta (Blum) Smith.

Emma Lou was the cherished wife of the late Eugene Rosenstein and the late Leonard Bass, beloved mother of Jerry (Susan) Bass, Craig (Susan) Bass, Carl (Brian) Bass Stofko and Jamie Bass Rose and devoted grandmother of Jeremy (Carina) Bass and Sarah (Dustin Brown) Bass. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and several nieces.

Emma Lou was a long time employee of CCAC-Boyce Campus. Post retirement, she was an active volunteer at the VA Medical Center - Aspinwall. She was an active member of the Jewish War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary, serving multiple local and state offices before becoming National President from 2004-2005.

The family wishes to thank the staff, both past and present, at Arden Courts of Monroeville for their compassionate care and support over the last 4 years.

Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, December 16 at 11 AM at Temple Sinai Memorial Park, 7740 Saltsburg Road, Plum Boro 15239. To the Bass family: my deepest sympathy to you at the passing of your beloved mother and grandmother. She and my mother, Marilyn Verk Goldstein, were very connected through JWV and life in the eastern suburbs, and my mother always said the nicest things about your mother. Your mom was a wonderful wife and caretaker of your father for many years, a lesser woman would not have been able to do what she did. I’m sure it wasn’t easy for any of you. Her dedication to the welfare of veterans was and still is greatly admired. May her memory be a blessing.
