Ronald S. Angerman
February 22, 2026

Passed away on February 22, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Nancy Hertz Angerman for 60 years; cherished father of Iris (Dr. Laurence) Friedman and Michael (Michele Godwin); incredibly proud grandfather of Dr. Elizabeth Friedman and David Friedman; brother of Jerry (Anne) Angerman of Denver, CO; and the member of a caring extended family.

After growing up in McKeesport with his parents, Jack and Thelma, Ron graduated from Penn State University and served in the Navy. Over the course of the next 47 years, he was the owner of R & J Furniture Company. Ron took great pride in treating his customers with fairness and respect, which inspired trust from several generations of customers. He especially took a caring interest in the lives and families of his employees. He continued to be in touch with them over the years, and their friendship and devotion was very special to him.

Ron was preceded in death by his best friend and love of his life, Nancy. They loved to play tennis, golf, and bridge, enjoyed the Pittsburgh Symphony, and took years of classes through Osher at Carnegie Mellon University and Naples Council of World Affairs. After Nancy experienced the death of her mother at a young age, she realized the importance of not waiting to do things. For 60 years, Ron meticulously planned adventures as they loved traveling the world together. In later years, beach trips with family, especially their grandchildren, were a cherished memory.

Throughout Ron’s life, he always put others before himself. His kindness, empathy, big heart, humbleness and willingness to help others was truly inspiring. Upon his retirement, Ron enjoyed reading the Wall Street Journal, following the stock market, playing bridge, cheering on Penn State football, and supporting charities. Ron’s remarkable relationship with his son-in-law Larry, his nightly conversations with his grandson David, and his friendship with his first cousin Robert Levin gave extra light to the last seven years of his life.

He felt thankful and blessed to have lived such a healthy and happy life. Most of all, Ron loved spending time with his family, who will miss him dearly. His unconditional love will remain in our hearts forever.

Graveside services and interment were private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice. May Ron rest in peace now. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. www.schugar.com
