LORETTA R. PARKINS passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2026 in Pittsburgh, PA. Beloved wife of the late Arthur F. Parkins, she is dearly remembered by her children Roland Parkins (Iromie Weeramantry) of Olivebridge, NY; Lisa Parkins of New York City; and Andrea Parkins of Berlin, Germany. She was sister to the late Marian Parkins, and stepsister to the late Dr. Joseph Rosenbloom, William Rosenbloom, Hilda Lazier, Dr. Lester Rosenbloom and Isabelle Rosenbloom. Loretta is also survived by her nieces and nephews and their families. Born on May 7, 1925 to Max and Helen (née Balog) Rosenbloom, she lived in the Pittsburgh area throughout her life. She held Bachelor of Arts and Master of Education degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. Loretta was an educator who had a deep love for literature, music, nature, and gastronomy. Steadfast in her commitment to progressive causes, she served as a Democratic Committeewoman and was an advocate for reproductive rights.
