Anthony “Tony” Pampena, age 87, passed away Friday March 27, 2026 in Jacksonville, Florida. Tony was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1938 to Mary and Marcello Pampena.
Tony loved spending time with his family. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing on his boat that he cleverly named Y-Not. He enjoyed tending to his garden and hunting. He also loved spaghetti and meatballs, solving puzzle games like sudoku, and telling riddles. He had a sharp sense of humor and could make anyone around him laugh.
Tony held many jobs throughout his life, his earliest manually resetting pins at a bowling alley. He was extremely smart, great with numbers, and had a wonderful work ethic. He was a very talented craftsman who could build or fix almost anything.
Tony is survived by his wife Joanne of 68 years, whom he met when he was 15 and they shared a marriage full of laughter and love. They frequently cited a sense of humor as the key to their happy marriage.
He is also survived by his 4 children, Lynn (Bill), David (Jane), Brenda (Mike), and Dennis; his grandsons, Mike, Ben, Jason, Ethan, Billy, and Kyle; his granddaughter Marissa; his brother Joe (Katie); and many nieces and nephews.
Everyone who knew Tony knew that he was the most loving and devoted father and husband a family could ask for. He was quick witted and always made others laugh. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.
