EZRA M. REIS: Beloved husband, father, brother, and uncle, passed away on April 8, 2026. He was born on April 15, 1974, in Morgantown, West Virginia, and lived a life full of laughter, passion, and deep devotion to those he loved. Ezra was a graduate of Michigan State University and earned his Juris Doctor from the Maurer School of Law at Indiana University Bloomington. This achievement spoke to his sharp and curious mind. Those who knew Ezra knew he was one of a kind. He had a quirky personality and a wicked sense of humor that could light up any room, and he loved his family with a greatness that was simply immeasurable. There was nothing he would not do for the people he held dear. Ezra's passions were many and heartfelt. He was a devoted Pittsburgh Pirates fan - a true Bucco's faithful - who could always be found watching or listening to the game. There was nothing quite like a day at PNC Park for Ezra, and his love for his Pirates was as genuine and steadfast as the man himself. He had a deep love of music, especially following Billy Strings on tour - an adventure he cherished sharing with his wife Sonja and, when he could be convinced to come along, his son Silas. He found joy in glamping, in the great wide open, and in the company of good people. Politics and the news - both national and international - were never far from his mind or his conversations. And through it all, his cat Snoopy was faithfully by his side. Ezra was a member of New Light Congregation in Squirrel Hill, where his Conservative Jewish faith was an anchor and a source of deep meaning in his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Sonja Reis; his children, Jonas Brobeck, Elise Brobeck, and Silas Reis; his brother Efrem Reis and sister-in-law Lauren Reis of Teaneck, New Jersey, and their children Ella, Leba, and Sammy; his nephews Noah Reis and Gabriel Reis of Michigan, sons of his late brother Ari Reis; and various cherished aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ezra was preceded in death by parents, Rabbi Paul Reis and Rebbetzin SaraLouise Elfenbein Reis, and his brother, Ari Reis. In lieu of flowers, donations to Silas' future educational needs are requested. Contributions can be made here: https://www.ugift529.com/home.html?id=D4B-80D .
