Mel was an important part of mine and my sister’s early childhood. We’d all spend a lot of time at the house on Shady Avenue. Mel would spend time with us playing ball in the back yard that extended for three houses. I have fond memories of those days. He’ll be missed by all of us. Sorry for your loss.

I had the pleasure of working with Mel for a short, yet memorable time, at the Concordia Club in Pittsburgh. He told me that he was the "dough head", and I was the pastry finisher . He certainly made our work more enjoyable. He will be missed, but remembered.
