CLAUDIA M. ROTH, PhD: Is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Claudia M. Roth, PhD, on May 1, 2026, following a courageous, years-long battle with illness.
She is survived by her beloved siblings, Ellen, Cliff (Stavroula), and Andrew, and was dearly cherished by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. She was born in Pittsburgh to Melvin and Ina Roth of blessed memory.
Dr. Roth was a distinguished alumna of the University of Pittsburgh's undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs. She practiced as a psychologist and notably served as President and Chief Executive Officer of Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, and as Vice President of UPMC Behavioral Health.
She was deeply committed to addressing, supporting, and enhancing the mental health and well-being of all individuals. She was highly respected for her unwavering dedication to all those under her care.
She will be remembered and profoundly missed by all who knew her.
A Private Graveside Service was held at Agudath Achim Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to the STAR Center at the University of Pittsburgh, the Autoimmune Association, UPMC Hillman Cancer Center, or a charity of one's choice.

So extremely sorry to hear about Claudia’s passing. Like Eric Spiegel had said, we have fond memories of her in Hebrew and Sunday school together. I also got reacquainted with her at Pitt where we were both Psych majors and took some of the same classes. My heart is with you during this difficult time. May her memory be a blessing.

Dear Ellen, Andrew and Cliff
I have fond memories of your family whine we grew up at Gemilas Chesed and at the Cabana Club in the ‘60’s. I can still picture your parents z”l and your mom with Claudia near the baby pool at the Cabana Club. Please accept my deepest condolences on the loss of your Beautiful and Brloved sister.
