CHARNY, MARGARET "PEGGY": On Sunday, May 12, 2013; Beloved wife of E. Joseph "Joe" Charny. Beloved mother of Joel (Anne) Charny of Washington, DC, Sharon Charny (Fiance Heinz Woschitz) of Baltimore, MD and the late David Charny. Daughter of the late Arthur R. and Rena A. Knipp. Grandmother of Matthew Charny of Takoma Park, MD and Claire Charny of Chicago, IL. Peggy was born September 18, 1930 at Lingnan University, Canton, China. She was a graduate of Swarthmore College and the Graduate School of Public and International Affairs of the University of Pittsburgh with a Masters degree in Urban and Regional Planning. A tireless advocate for the City of Pittsburgh, she was beloved by everyone she touched in all walks of life. Graveside Services and Interment were held at Tree of Life Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to the Arthur R. and Rena A. Knipp Scholarship Fund at the Krieger School of Arts and Sciences at Johns Hopkins University or The David A. Dear Joe, Joel, & Sharon-I can\'t tell you how sad I am to hear about Peggy\'s death. Your family means so much to me & I will miss Peggy deeply.
