EDGAR GOLDFARB: Passed peacefully on May 7, 2026. Beloved husband of the late Soralie Levin Goldfarb; they were married for 62 years. The loving father of Jane Goldfarb and Larry (Ann) Goldfarb; devoted grandfather of Daniel, Jonathan and Aashma Goldfarb; and loving uncle to nieces and nephews Joel Bloom (Mary Noe), Betsy Bloom Freed (Mark) and Emily Bloom, as well as grand-nieces and grand-nephews; Adam Buncher, Dani Buncher (Sara Strand), Allison Freed, Rob Bloom, Sam Leffe, and Annie Leffe. Ed and Soralie left Pittsburgh in 2016, and Ed lived in Aventura, Florida, until age 99. He graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School, the University of Pittsburgh, and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. Ed was a World War II Navy Veteran stationed at U.S. Navy Hospital, Annapolis Maryland as a Hospital Apprentice. In Annapolis he played piano on Saturday nights at the Officers' Club with The Hospital Corp Band. He found his passion in real estate and playing the piano. He began his career at Spiro Realty and retired at age 89 from Howard Hanna in Squirrel Hill. Aside from his unconditional love for his family, Ed respected all whom he met and spoke freely and kindly to everybody--even strangers. He played piano for over 95 years, until his final days, and was a member of the Pittsburgh Musicians' Union. Ed was part of the musical ensemble for many Pittsburgh Playhouse productions and for performances at the JCC in the 1970s. Prior to COVID (2018-2019), Ed performed numerous piano programs for the residents at The VI (assisted living in Aventura, Florida). While in Pittsburgh, he served on the board of the Steinway Society of Western PA and on the board, as well as an active member, of the Squirrel Hill Urban Coalition. He and his wife loved attending the Pittsburgh Symphony and the Y Music Society. Ed attended morning minyan regularly at Tree of Life Synagogue where he and his wife were members for over 40 years.

Ed was one of the kindest gentlemen I have ever known. A concert pianist with a law degree who sold real estate. He and Soralee were a great match. It was a pleasure to have known Ed since I was a teenager and to have later in life, worked with him. My sincere condolences to his family.

I am so sorry to learn of Ed's passing. He was a wonderful man and a dear friend of my family for decades. May those who knew and loved him be comforted in reflecting upon a long life of purpose. He left the world a better place.

"Eddie" was one of the nicest and certainly one of the best friends a person could have in life.

My condolences to your family. I knew Soralie and Ed through my husband, Dr. Leonard Haus and through his real estate connections\\ and Duquesne golf course. Such a very nice man.
