Milton Reichman
November 21, 1926 - April 18, 2026

MILTON 'MILT' REICHMAN: Of Squirrel Hill, passed away on Saturday April 18, 2026 after a long battle with Parkinson's Disease, at the blessed old age of 99. He passed away at home, surrounded by his family. Milton was the beloved husband of Sara Reichman and devoted father of Jonathan Reichman and Miriam Reichman, all of Pittsburgh, and an adoring grandfather of Gabriella Reichman of Herzliya, Israel. Milton was born on November 21, 1926 at West Penn Hospital to Samuel and Dorothy (Cottler) Richman. He was raised on Penn Avenue in the Garfield section of the city, at the home of his grandparents. While a student at Peabody High School, the US entered World War ll and like many young men who were keen to serve, Milt signed up to serve his country in the Navy. After graduating from the Naval Training Academy in Illinois, Milt was stationed in Florida and California for the remainder of the war as a gunner on the PB2Y planes. After an honorable discharge, Milt studied at the University of Pittsburgh. He was proud to be the first in his family to graduate from college. He was also an active member of the Sigma Alpha Mu (SAM) Fraternity. From his youth, Milt was involved in Zionist organizations. His dream to visit Israel came to fruition when he spent a year at Kibbutz Maleh Hachamisha. In 1968, he traveled again to Israel where he met his wife Sara. They married in Pittsburgh and raised a loving family here. Milt was active with SAM alumni, the local Jewish War Veterans and American Legion and was a 14th Ward Democratic Committeeman. If you asked Milt what he would want to be remembered for, he would have said that he was most proud of:
1) His time in the Navy, serving during the war;
2) His time spent at the University of Pittsburgh and his involvement with the SAM fraternity;
3) His support and love of Israel and the Jewish people.
But most of all, Milt was proud of and loved and cared about his family.  Milton will be missed greatly by his family and friends. Services were Private. Burial took place at Eretz Hachaim Cemetery in Beit Shemesh, Israel. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc. www.schugar.com
