MICKEY ARNOWITZ:  Of Pittsburgh died on June 20, 2026 with his wife and partner of 50 years by his side. He was 90 years old.

A beloved and loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle to his many nieces and nephews, Mickey was a cherished partner in conversation because he was interested in everything and always wanted to learn more. In that spirit, even up to the last few years of his life, Mickey and Joyce traveled the world together from Africa to the Amazon.

Mickey was a caring brother to William Arnowitz, Roslyn Arnowitz, Wilma Yahr, and Claire Weiner. Throughout his life, he also gave love to many pets of all sizes, from white-furred Slovak Cuvac's mountain dogs to rescued cats and even once-upon-a-time to koi. He loved an evening out with family and close friends, especially if it included fine dining and a great bottle of wine.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Joyce Baradon Arnowitz; his children Andrew Arnowitz, John Arnowitz, and Michael Leventon (Laura Leventon); and his grandchildren, Max and Anna Leventon.

Graveside Service and Interment will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026 at 11 AM at Homewood Cemetery (1599 S Dallas Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15217). The family appreciates your thoughts at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice.

My sincerest condolences to Andy and the family on this sad loss. I am so, so sorry to hear this news. I have fond memories of my meeting Mickey many, many years ago in Pittsburgh, and how good and kind he was to me, as a friend of Andy’s. May his dear soul rest in eternal peace.

Dear Andy, John, and Judy, (and Joyce, whom I barely knew), It was with great sadness that I read this obituary, and I convey my most heartfelt condolences to you all. Uncle Mickey was one of my favorite people, and I have many happy memories of him, particularly in the mid 1960s when we were next-door neighbors on Bellerock Street, and later when you lived at the corner of Bennington and Plainfield.. He was kind enough to come to my dad\'s funeral in 1999; I am in Vietnam at currently, otherwise I would attend his funeral. Consider yourselves fortunate that he made it to 90! Let me hear from you.
