Mayer (Mickey) Martin Arnowitz
June 20, 2026

Mickey Arnowitz of Pittsburgh died on June 20, 2026 with his wife and partner of 50 years by his side. He was 90 years old.

A beloved and loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle to his many nieces and nephews, Mickey was a cherished partner in conversation because he was interested in everything and always wanted to learn more. In that spirit, even up to the last few years of his life, Mickey and Joyce traveled the world together from Africa to the Amazon.

Mickey was a caring brother to William Arnowitz, Roslyn Arnowitz, Wilma Yahr, and Claire Weiner. Throughout his life, he also gave love to many pets of all sizes, from white-furred Slovak Cuvac's mountain dogs to rescued cats and even once-upon-a-time to koi. He loved an evening out with family and close friends, especially if it included fine dining and a great bottle of wine.

Mickey is survived by his wife, Joyce Baradon Arnowitz; his children Andrew Arnowitz, John Arnowitz, and Michael Leventon (Laura Leventon); and his grandchildren, Max and Anna Leventon.

A graveside service for family and friends will be held to honor Mickey. Please call Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., at 412.621.8282 for service details. The family appreciates your thoughts at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to a charity of your choice. www.schugar.com
