Bunny S. (Sherman) Pittsburgh (‘nee Goldman) passed on July 13, 2026 at 100. She is survived by daughters Jody Sherman (Goldman) and Leslie Peterson (Tom). Predeceased by her “shvesters”, Ruth (Cootsie), Zelda (ZeeZee), and Madelyn (Meshie) whom she loved dearly. Loved by so many, she lived her life fully and in color. She danced the night away in every supper club with “the boys” who were off to war. Her 1945 yearbook said she was the gorgeous curvy redhead that everyone loved. A very accomplished self-taught abstract painter, her thirst for knowledge of other mediums led to etchings, lithographs, and eventually the ancient art of papermaking. A crowning achievement was her one-woman show at the Carnegie Museum of Art. Sadly, dementia resulted in a complete loss of creativity with no memory of her amazing contributions to the art world in
Pittsburgh and beyond. Her works live on in many homes, coast to coast. She was well known for renovating old homes and filling them with stunning antiques. Impeccable taste, sense of how to use color and design came naturally. With several recognitions in the Post-Gazette, many were given a glimpse of her exceptional taste and talent. Ironically, the large gothic black stone home that sits across from the entrance to Homewood Cemetery was one such masterpiece. Her final resting place is in that very cemetery.
In recovery, she loved her community and touched the lives of so many.
