Funeral Information

September 16 2026 - 12:00 pm
New Light Cemetery, 750 Soose Road, Pittsburgh PA 15209 - Shaler Twp.

Eric Martin Kalik of Wilsonville, Oregon died peacefully the morning of Friday, September 11th at the age of 66. He passed at Chehalem Post Acute, a nursing facility that had become his home after the stroke he suffered in July 2024 made it impossible for him to return to his house in Wilsonville. In his final days, his brothers shared stories of mischief and hijinks from his childhood. There were pints of ice cream, so many episodes of Star Trek and listening to his favorite tunes in quieter moments.

The eldest son of Evan and Sandy Greenbarg Kalik, Eric grew up in the greater Pittsburgh area in Pennsylvania. He graduated from Greensburg Salem High School in 1978, where he participated in the a/v club and made lifelong friendships built on pranks and shenanigans. He graduated from University of Miami in 1982, where he studied politics and photography. Throughout his life, Eric consistently worked in sales: at his family's orthopedic supply company in south Florida, selling fireplaces in Oregon, and later at various car dealerships. To round out his sales skills, he became an auctioneer later in life. Evan, his father, still beams with pride that "Eric could sell snow to Eskimos."

He is survived by his beloved wife Becca and a number of children and grandchildren that he has adored every minute of playing with. His oldest daughter, Sandy Kalik Bartone, her husband Tony, and their children, Maddie, Vito, and Beverly. His son Andrew Kalik, his wife Alyssa and their two boys, Azaiah and Ari. His step daughter, Jennifer Bilgere, her husband Casey, and their children Zeke, Ash and Finn. And his youngest daughter Lexi Rhineheimer, who recently got engaged. Additionally, he is survived by his father Evan Kalik and his wife Ardyth, and his brother Craig Kalik and his wife Ali, and Allan Kalik and his wife Shellie. He joins his mother Sandy Greenbarg Kalik at New Light Cemetery.

Graveside service and Interment will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at New Light Cemetery at 12 noon. A zoom option is available for those who would like to be present virtually, please call the funeral home at (412.621.8282) for the link.
