COHEN, HARRIET R.: Age 89.  Lifelong Pittsburgh resident, passed away peacefully in Morristown, NJ with her family at her side on Sunday, January 4, 2015.  She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Cohen (James Calvin) of Nyack, New York and Sharon Cohen Gruber (Mark Gruber), of Hopatcong, New Jersey. Harriet was a devoted grandmother to Darren and Sarah Gruber. Harriet was also survived by her brother, Victor Brody (Lila Hirsh Brody), several nephews and nieces and their families. Harriet was an employee of the Allegheny County Health Department for over 25 years. She was an accomplished violinist, having been a member of the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra for more than 40 years. She was also a member of the Jewish Community Center Orchestra and the Tuesday Musical Club for many years.  She was very active with the Pittsburgh Chapter of AARP. Services at Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc., 5509 Center Avenue, Shadyside, on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 at 10 AM. Visitation with the family one hour prior to services (9 - 10 AM). Interment Chofetz Chaim Cemetery. The family asks that contributions be directed to the Edgewood Symphony Orchestra at P.O. Box 82559,  Pittsburgh, PA 15218. www.schugar.com.

Janice & Sharon- I was very saddened to learn of your mother's passing. Your mother was a very dear friend to my mother and dad for many years. My.mother always enjoyed her telephone conversations with your mom. In the past few years my mother enjoyed your mom's afternoon visits to Schenley Gardens.
