MELVIN MANN, age 97, of Greenfield, passed peacefully at home on February 20, 2015.  Beloved husband of 57 years of Estelle Olitzky Mann. Loving father of Andrea M. (Michael) Lowenstein of Pittsburgh and Leslie B. (Jennifer) Mann of Warwick, Rhode Island.  Beloved son of the late Leon & Libby Mann and brother of the late Fanny Silverman, Sidney Mann, Harry Mann, and Alvin Mann.  Adored and adoring grandpa of Lauren (Nick) Bauer, Rachel (Mark) Hoekstra, David Lowenstein, Natalie Mann and Alexander Mann and great-grandpa of Samuel Bauer.  Also beloved by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and by his many friends, in the furniture business, at Schenley Park Golf Course and, especially, at Temple Sinai.  Special thanks to his caregivers led by Mary Smith and Sivitz Hospice.  Awarded a Purple Heart for his bravery in the United States Marine Corps, where he was wounded in the battle of Iwo Jima in 1945, he survived to become a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, cousin and friend, a successful and respected furniture salesman, a comfort to everyone with whom he came in contact, and a man deeply respected by all who knew him for his quiet strength and impeccable character, his gentle and reassuring manner, his contributions and commitment to his temple and the community, and for the way he pursued his many passions and interests and shared them with the people he loved and who loved him.  Services at Temple Sinai, 5505 Forbes Avenue, Squirrel Hill on Monday at 1:00 PM.  Visitation at Temple one hour prior to services (12 Noon - 1:00 PM.) Interment Temple Sinai Memorial Park.  Contributions may be made to the Estelle and Melvin Mann Fund for the Future at Temple Sinai or to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements entrusted to Ralph Schugar Chapel, Inc.
